Seastar Hose Kits
Seastar Hose Kits are to be used on all Seastar systems and Baystar systems. The Pro systems and Capilano systems.
Do not cut, there is no means to field swage fittings to the ends.
Pro helm systems require the use of Pro Kevlar Hose Kits. (1500psi reinforced)
Seastar and Seastar Pro steering hoses are available in kits (two equal lengths). With pre-attached fittings on both ends. To prevent kinking, the ends with the bend restrictor are to be attached to the cylinder.
Now with NEW ORB fittings are made of corrosion resistant stainless steel which can be easily orientated in any direction to accommodate hose routings.
Bulkhead Hose Kits assure a neat hydraulic steering installation. Each hose has an integral bulkhead fitting for tidy routing of hoses through a splashwell bulkhead, helping to eliminate excess loose hose, kinking or chafing.
Stainless Steel Bulkhead Hose Kits has integral 316 s/s bulkhead plates and 316 s/s fittings,
assure a neat hydraulic steering installation.

How to Replace:
If you removed the old hoses, measure for replacement hoses as follows.
Measure existing hose from tip to tip, round up to next even foot. Order that length hose kit, or twice that length in tubing.
How to Measure Hydraulic Hoses for New Installation:
Measure hose routing path from wheel centre line to engine connection, as follows:
Centre line of wheel to gunwale (or deck, if routed downward),
Dash to transom,
Gunwale to centre line of cable connection at centred tiller.
Most cylinders move with the engine/rudder; enough slack must be left in hoses/tubing to prevent sharp bends (less than 3” radius) and/or kinking.
